And I ask from a legal sense ONLY. If your church or belief system (religion) wont allow it, that is their buisness. Why shouldn't gays be allowed to LEGALLY marry?

To Arthur W.:

This has nothing to do with what people do behind closed doors. God knows I don't want to know what straight people do. But arent I "rammed" down with it everyday in t.v., film and magazines showing hetero sexuality? Sorry but your defense in weak. God has nothing to do with this. This is an equality issue.

The way youre sounding, it seems your B.S. stands for Bull sh*t.

I've not heard a legitimate argument against homosexual marriage yet. Any consenting adults (of either sex, or any number) should be able to marry if they desire. There's no reason not to allow it.

See thats such a good question. People are intwining religion and government and it shouldn't be that way. The law should be about people, of course it isnt BUT it should be. But then some hardcore christian (please not i have nothing against christians at all or anyother relgion) would say "i dont want my children being around this immoral stuff!!" so then they'd have to take those people into consideration and like the lady who posted on here "i dont care about what gays do as long as i dont hear about it" thats like saying girls and guys can get married but i dont want to hear about it. even though she will. becuase marraige is a big deal and its an experiance everyone should go thru and these stupid people who believe that homesexuality is wrong wont give people the chance to be equal. its funny how some relagions are like "God loves each and everyone of you BUT not if you're gay cuz then you're going to hell" they are contradicting themselves.
Everyone should have the right to be married. thats that.

I respect all sexuality and the way peeps want to live their lives, as long it doesn't interfere with MY life. The peeps that bring God into this are.... well never mind no comment, the way things are in this world this is a never ending topic, but I think that sometimes we really, need to ignore society, why should we live to satisfy other peeps? we all need to live and fix our OWN mistakes before trying to fix OTHER peeps lives.

Gay marriage does effect me. I have been with my partner for over 6 years, and because of the laws that are on the books, we are not permitted to get married. There are certain 'implied' laws that are in place when two people marry. For example, we cannot file jointly on our taxes, and she cannot make the decision to "pull the plug" should I go in to a coma without a living will. There are a million things that traditional marriage allows that filing for "domestic partnership" does not allow.

There are some things that are bad of society. Somethings take society in the wrong direction. Even if the marriage does not affect them directly, it will eventually affect society. Historically speaking NO society that embraced Homosexuality has ever survived. They crumble from within. People that love our society want it to last and not crumble so they appose things that endanger their way of life. The old saying "If it feels good do it" is not true it not only endangers the person in the act but society as a whole. Rape feels good to the rapist but causes pain to the raped. Murder feels good to the killer but causes pain to the killed.

You may not undertsand why a woman sticks with a man thats verbally abusive, but its probably because she loves him deeply. You may not understand gay relationships, buy if they want to marry its because they are in love.

Because they ram in down our throats, so to speak. What anyone does behind closed doors in their business so keep it there. Dont come out here in public demanding equal rights and such because according to the Bible, this is NOT normal so if God doesnt accept it then why should we? It even goes against all natural laws of nature like unlikes attract and same repels. Somewhere the lines have to be drawn. Society cannot acept everything out there just because someone wants it for no real reasn other than selfsatisfaction or we are about to experience complete society chaos and just look around to see we are almost there now and God help us then. Ever wonder why these other countries dont want to have a democracy like ours?

One theory Iv'e heard:
If gay marriage ever gains world wide acceptance it would
eventually cause our extinction.
Since human same sex couples can not procreate.

I don't care what homosexuals do as long as I never have to hear about it.
