Im getting this new video caed and it says 256 mb DDR3 but my computer has regular DDR ram is it still compatible?

If it is compatible with your PC's graphics slot (AGP or PCIe), it should work.

Do not confuse system RAM on the motherboard with graphics card memory. They do not have to be the same.

Yes! Does your Computer has a PCI Express lot? to put the new video card into???? I don't know of many computers that take DDR (1) RAM and still have a PCI express video slot for DDR 3 graphic cards?????

yes, just make sure your motherboard can take PCI-e video cards, my guess is you're getting an nvidia 8600? or one of the ati cards? i have an XFX Geforce 8600GTS XXX with 256MBDDR3 and its awesome.
