i was the only first aider and they fired me..they have not told csst that i am not there..will they be fined?they are working with no first aider in a manufacturing enviroment?

I think it's up to them and their insurance coverage.
A lot of shops out here in Illinois don't have any either.

Depending on the TYPE of employer, and what country you are in, they may not be required to have anyone trained in first aid employed. Even if they are, they CAN hire someone else. IF I was an employer in this situation, I could find SOMEONE qualified to SIT AROUND in case someone needed first aid in under an hour. There has to be a Paramedic in town that could use extra money.

They can always get another "first aider."
