I am going on a World Challenge expedition to Norway in July and I need to raise £1225 to go on the trip. but all the things i have thought of sound like they will only make me very small amounts for a lot of effort. cake sales and carol singing and card making for example. Does anyone know how I can raise the money? Got any tips for things they would enjoy going to (quiz nights and pamper evenings for example)?? please help. thanks a lot.

Why don`t you try and contact local press about your challenge and try and drum up some cash from local sponsors, ie local shops in your area, even if they could donate raffle prizes. Or organise a `Stars in their eyes` night and get everyone involved to do a turn, and sell tickets or Body Shop Party, and Body Shop donate extra to your cause, by giving you a percentage of sales, maybe others do that too, I`m not sure.
A toy sale at a local hall, give 70% to the person who donates the toy, and keep 30% to the charity, these are very successful where I live, person has to label the toy themselves with customer number and price, and number and price taken at checkout during sale, and percentage worked out at end of sale. Hope this hasnt bored you!!

Dogs ARE very expensive to keep. I don't know HOW you can afford three big dogs. But I will commend you on the love and care you are (evidently) giving them. You covered the every day living expenses. The real expensive items are, of course, the vet visits. They have to be seen by a vet once a year or more if they are sick. They should have their feces checked, booster shots if needed and a general exam. I would not purchase flea meds online. My vet wants my dog on flea meds and heartworm meds every month of the year. I live in Michigan so it gets cold here. You cannot be sure what you are getting when you order online. Washing dog bed covers is O.K. as long as the pillow it covers is not stained and smelly! They can get bad and bacteria filled from vomit or whatever. Always use stainless steel or stone ware bowls. Bacteria can get stuck in cracks in the plastic or hard rubber bowls. Which, in time will make your dogs sick. NEVER use anything but decent dog shampoo on your dogs. This is one category you cannot be cheap. It can cause more problems than the cost of dog shampoo. It can create itching, irritation and skin conditions. It washes out the natural oils in the dog's fur. Not a good money saver there. You didn't mention food. You must feed them quality dog food. They don't need the canned food. But as someone else said, they need a good quality dry food. Again, if you go cheap on food, it can cost you more in vet bills because of the problems. Not everyone will agree with this part, but with big dogs I mix all the table scraps in with their large bowl of dry dog food. If I don't have scraps I would pour broth or gravy over it. Maybe a couple pieces of bread/butter mixed in. The larger dogs need so much more than the smaller dogs. There is nothing worse than a skinny, large dog and the owner says, "I feed him nothing but dry food once a day." That is great.......I guess I have always treated my dogs as more than a dog. I don't like it when dogs look like they are skin and bones. They might be "healthy" but I'll bet not very happy. HELP.......CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT MANNY IS TALKING ABOUT? I HAVE READ HIS ANSWER 3 TIMES AND I STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT....................THANK YOU!!!!!!!
