Very nice find, Sage Seeker!
I'll be looking for a web version as soon as it is published.
I knew about the fiber, calcium, and Vit. D-but the need for a B-12 supplement is one I didn't consider.....Thank you!
I found another article with a couple of different details:

A lot of senior citizens I know only eat what they can afford, prepare everything at home, and they find it's good for them. Lots of beans, rice, cornbread, potatoes, eggs and other relatively cheap foods enjoy the happy coincidence of forming nice amino acid chains.

As I've mentioned before, I work for Weight Watchers and you would be amazed at the number of seniors who join wanting to learn how to best eat to lose and/or maintain their weight. They are some of our most successful members and a real inspiration in our meeting rooms.

If the doctor doesn't restrict your diet for health reasons then eat what ever the heck you want. I am a firm believer in living to the fullest. If you enjoy good food, eat it. If you are one of those "eat to live not live to eat type people" then it doesn't matter.

listen to your body it will tell what it requires.Low on amino acids and protein ...it want's fish.Low on calcium...it's wants a gelatin source...Low on starch... it want's potato or rice. Veggies, good anytime ! I'm only 56 but i'm 220lbs on a 6'4" frame. My veternarian told me "watch your animals, they only eat what their diet requires" . We are only slightly more advanced primate's than our animals. We just have that 'opposed thumb ' thing and the ability to reason thing going on !

Bring it on...I'd rather be a robust 70 than a frail wimp of 80.
