Because before there were no discourse the general nature of all things. Before the development of creature critically aware of their environment, there was absolute compliance among all living things. It is not an experience, for instance, for a leopard to kill a deer, as it would learn nothing from it; an animal would never seek to improve upon its nature to better itself. On the other hand, human beings would go through a course of action and then would reflect upon their performance to make sure that there is certain improvement in efficiency next time, and this to me is what we can call an experience. There is a clear distinction between action, event and experience. An action or an event could be spontaneous through and through, but there has to be some deliberation of some sort it an incident is to be called an experience.

sentient beings to experience them. You did really answer your own question. You could have said 'no events' and made it into a question about solipsicm and idealism.
