One of the keys has just come off my laptop... the button still types characters and does not seem harmed... is there any way I can "clip" the key back on or something?

look at the back of the key and verify that nothing looks broken. you should also look at the carrier for the key. Not knowing what kind of laptop makes it impossible for me to give you exact instructions. If everything looks ok the key should click back into place. If you want to update the information I can try to be more helpful. I was unable to find a replacement key, but was able to find a replacement keyboard. They are 26.00 + shipping. They are very easy to replace. here is a link for a replacement keyboard. http://www.electronics-batteries.com/dell_laptop_keyboards_dekcell_cpa_1133.htm
If nothing else, you can remove the key you need and simply put it back on. You will need a very small Phillips screwdriver and a very small common screwdriver . I have pictures but can't post them here. If you need further help, feel free to ask.
