Titanic was a great emotional film. Im not gay but I'm a guy who loves this movie for some reason. The special effects at the time and still are great. And the love story was the best I have ever watched. Its not some cheesy love story like City of Angels or most of the love stories these days. Dont get me wrong I bet there are tons of great movies but if you sit down and just watch this movie you will be sucked in to it and probably cry at the end. What made this movie so great was the music above all. It is the highest grossing movie of all time, that doesnt mean people seen it and liked it but people still liked it. It stayed Number 1 at the box office for 26 weeks. So people must have seen it numerous times and they must have liked it. But to stay number 1 for 26 weeks has to mean people liked it because if they didnt why whould they keep seeing it. But everyone I talk to say they hate that movie. But everyone has there own opinion.

Personally being a preteen when that movie came out, I hated it because of how much people claimed to like it. If you were around at that time everybody was always like "oh I saw titanic 3 times" "really I saw it 5 times". It was like the bandwagon to jump on. Oh and the freaking music was everywhere, every other song was that one megahit on the radio, it was really annoying the way people acted about the movie which made me dislike the movie itself.

True... it's a great movie. But, after you get over the first view, and maybe a second and third, the movie takes a turn for the worst in most people's minds. It goes from being a good movie to three hours of drudgery and boredom.

The effects were great but the Titanic story didn't need a made up love story. Hundreds of people died and many more lost loved ones. Why didn't they focus on one of the many true stories that took place aboard the ship?

I have no Idea!
Personally, I loved the movie. I've seen it over 15 times (yep the whole 3 hrs) and its spellbinding everytime for me.

I've heard some people say that its the length of the movie that they hate, and some say that it's tyhe fact that the love story is too sappy and the ending is obviously...but I love it....TEN YEARS AND COUNTING!

Personally, I can't stand "romantic" stories. The special effects were okay, I've seen much better. The acting was terrible. Even Leo can act better than what he had done in this movie. No, I didn't cry at the end. I just sat there and gawked at this "car crash"

I love the titanic!

There's a few reasons some people don't like it. Some people don't like emotional movies, there's brief nudity, to some people it's considered a "chick flick".

But that's amazing that you like it and your a guy. I'm sure there's tons of girls that like you, because us girls love guys who can watch something like that. Guys who act tough all the times, are hard to enjoy a movie like that with.

This is my opinion and I hope that it helps!

i loved and disliked the movie. I liked it because the romance but i hate when there is a sad end to a movie and when jack dies that is a very sad part. that might be why. I really dont know why people hate it.

It was way overrated. It really was just an ok story with good special effects. Hearing all the hype just made people tired of it.

Well, I think basically, it's not really a guy's kind of movie.

if someone says they hate a movie, its because they cant appreciate it. you sound like you appreciate a good flik, like me, and it touched you. if someone hates anything its usually because they aren't getting the message the author/director is relaying. suckers!
