Yes, I walk everywhere without shoes on my feet; downtown, in my own neighborhood, hiking in the woods, at work, at the mall, on vacation, and everywhere else. I've been barefoot for almost eleven years, I've never let it stop me from going anywhere I would've gone if I had worn shoes.
Going barefoot is not dangerous or gross; feet get very tough very quickly (I get a tiny splinter maybe once a year, never had a cut), our skin is made to keep pathogens out and feet are fully washable. In spite of persistent myths, it's healthy and very comfortable to go barefoot.

i does not decide to stroll downtown (or everywhere else) wearing shoes... i finished wearing shoes 11 years in the past and that i've got in no way regretted it, it quite is in no way stopped me from going everywhere. it quite is plenty greater comfortable to circulate barefoot, and opposite to what a lot of people have faith it quite is not risky, undesirable or gross. ft get very annoying very immediately; in 11 years, i'm getting a tiny splinter perhaps as quickly as a three hundred and sixty 5 days, i've got in no way had a shrink (and that i've got walked on *plenty* of glass, the prepare station is amazingly littered and that i'm usually at a run to seize my prepare, additionally circulate to the recycling midsection & bottle banks barefoot, etc, etc). As for different airborne dirt and dust, our pores and skin is made to maintain pathogens out, and ft are completely cleanable. do in simple terms no longer lick your feet or prop them up on the dinner table, and it quite is not proper how plenty grime you step in (even a used condom), it quite is going to no longer do any injury. we are at some distance greater suitable threat of choosing some thing up via our hands, the airborne dirt and dust on door knobs, railings, chair armrests etc etc won't be as seen although if it quite is a minimum of as germy because of the fact the darker airborne dirt and dust on the floor, and with our hands we are greater probably to circulate the germs to our face and/or foodstuff, the place they could enter our physique. it quite is not the seen form of airborne dirt and dust it quite is risky!
