I have Verizon DSL and I just got a new laptop with Windows XP. I cannot connect to the internet. I tried hooking up the phone line instead of using my wireless but it won't work. I made a new connection but it wont show up in my network connections. I need extensive help please! Do I need to download the CD?

Sounds like you need to reset the wireless router. Try this and see if it helps

Go to command prompt and type in

ipconfig /release and hit enter

Then try and connect.

note the space between ipconfig and the slash

Do you have a router?

Do you have other pcs on the network that work?

Did the DSL work with other pcs before or is this a new DSL connection?

Please answer these and provide all other relevant info so we can help you.
