I am hoping to find a website like craigslist that will enable me to hook up with someone driving to Switzerland from the Netherlands area in early February. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't remember the web site of it, but it shouldn't be hard to find. There is a site, something called Travelbuddy, or Travbuddy. And it helps you connect with people who are going to be traveling in the same area at the same time. I used it to find people for my trip to Dubai, unfortunately I can't go this year because I'm pregnant but its a great source. Good luck and Have fun!

Have you checked http://www.mitfahrzentrale.de yet?

If you can't find somebody driving to Switzerland from the Netherlands, look for drivers from the Netherlands to Southern Germany (Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Basel, Ulm) or from Northern Germany (Ruhr-Area) to Switzerland.

BTW, are you aware of the special discounted train ticket for Germany? The Schoene-Wochende-Ticket? For 35 EUR you can travel on a Saturday or Sunday from one end of Germany to the other, as long as you use only local trains. (This is slow and requires a few changes, but the price cannot be beaten! The ticket is valid for up to 5 people travelling together.) Use http://www.bahn.de to figure out a route - select "without ICE/IC/EC trains".

There is also bus and plane to get to Switzerland.

Easyjet flies from Amsterdam to Basel for 27 EUR in the first week of February.

Addition to Maia's answer.
A single ticket from Amsterdam to the German border will cost about €22, so that ticket in Germany is almost free.
