Mentally, it CAN make you talk slowly and endures through life. Also can make you look really slow and, well, stupid or possibly retarded.

Physically, it makes you really hungry so you could gain weight. Also, if you are sluggish and slow (due to the mental facet of it) then you probably aren't going to be very active and therefore another reason you may gain weight.

I don't smoke it but I know people who have/do and some are as described above. Most are NOT overweight at ALL, but some are. Some are sharp as tacks and don't seem to have lost any brain cells whatsoever (genius IQ), whereas others - you wonder how they can tie their own shoes.

To each his own, I suppose. I just don't think I could function, being's how I can barely function after drinking a single beer.

I have social anxiety so I would say the internet definitely makes me more comfortable with communicating with other people and provides a nice social outlet. Mentally it's a nice stress reliever to come on here and answer questions and debate topics with people. I enjoy that a lot. I've made some friends on here that provide me with some wonderful social and emotional support as well. -Connor

All though many people may not believe this, I want you and everyone else to know that marijuana can be addictive and there are substance abuse clinics forming to help people stop smoking marijuana. The effects are as stated in previous answers: hunger, sleepy, laughing, talking, stream of consciousness type thought, synethesia (hearing colors and seeing sounds). Some important things not touched upon in previous answer include what we call "short-term memory loss". This occurs with long term usage and is a permanent inability to form new memories. Finally, you should know that once the effect of weed runs out its "hangover" or "withdrawal" effect is to make you really stressed and irritable. It can also precipitate mental illness (e.g. anxiety, schizophrenic episode, etc).

I quit smoking weed in late August.I'm clean just about four months.I smoked for15 years on a daily basis.I can tell you, that weed made me lazy,depressed,irritable,depressed,depressed..you get my point.Withdrawals were bad,all of the things I just mentioned intensified!!!I'm starting to feel allot stronger within the last month,or so.I just feel allot better about myself, and a little less cloudy.
