It was NEIL Armstrong, not Louis : )
We can't land "on" the sun because it's not solid but instead is composed of super-heated plasma. Plasma is a weird kind of material that's neither solid nor liquid. It's conceivable that in some far, far distant time we might have the technology to visit the sun, but such a thing isn't even being considered yet.

The stakes are pretty high, so I hope you like this.
Yes, someday an errant spaceship will get sucked in by the sun's gravity and incinerate into tiny particles. Amongst those tiny particles will be some hydrogen atoms and perhaps some helium, and they will make it all the way to the surface of the sun (as defined by smarter people than me, since the sun is not solid).
Those tiny atoms will fuse and create energy, and people on the earth will get struck by a photon and think "Wow, this is weird, but I thought I felt Bob."
Is your mom pretty? Does she like Italian food? And can we go to Pakistan in the summer when it is warmer?

I actually disagree, we could land on the sun if we got like a super cooling system but we would have to turn it on at a very precise moment so the person doesnt get burned or frozen. But right now there is nothing that will not melt, burn or evaporate at the kind of tempurature. Good question! But if we did the oppisite of splitting an atom (Nuclear bomb) Then we could do the opposite and put a divided atom together. Which would react with a freezing cold force. That would be the best way to do it

It's Neil Armstrong! Louis Armstrong played the trumpet! LOL!
And the sun is basically a gas not a solid so you can't land on it!

If by some technilogical miracle you could get close to the Sun, there is no solid surface to land on-- its just a large ball of gas in essence--better yet its a large ball of superheated radioactive molecules..

there is no material on earth that could support a craft coming even close to the sun without incinerating or being crushed by the pressure. Maybe in a few hundred million years when the sun cools and we're living on Mars or something

We did not just stand in awe, we trumpeted the day, nearly 40 years ago...
The first solar landing will probably take place at night, so we will not see anything; then we'll have to refilm the whole thing in a studio...
