Does someknow what programs does Bungie Studios and Microsoft Studios does uses to make games like Halo?

I'm just guessing but they probably did something with Direct X. most of the games now days have some form of Direct X 9 or 10. What they do is they program a tool to create the worlds and the basic controls and then build off of that. Thats usually how these types of games are done.

I wondered what Halo 3 would be like if they would have used the unreal 3 engine (that Grears of War, and Unreal tournament, and even Area 51 all used). probably would have people look better!

My secret Microsoft source says that Halo is (mostly) written in C, with some of the trickier bits in assembly language. Naturally, Halo makes extensive use of DirectX, which is easily used with C and C++.

I think i no microsoft released a very basic verson of the program they use to make xbox games if u hav a dvd writer on your windows (mac/linux not supported ) and an xbox 360 then you can make, play and share your own games:
