Fake Nails?

Question

Im getting my nails done at a salon tomorow and im scared because my nails are such a state SERIOUSLY ive bitten them down till it hurts and ive got some red skin round my nails cause ive bitten them down so far.. im realy scared to go tomorow im going to be well embarest! can anyone help me get over this?

As long as you dont have any open wounds or cuts around your nails you can go ahead and get them done. If you do have open wounds, DO NOT allow anyone to put any nails on you. You can get an infection. Wait a few days for them to heal. I am a licensed nail tech and I have seen some HORRIBLE looking nails. If you have a good technician she will let you know if you have a problem or not. You have to stop biting your nails!!!!

DO NOT USE FAKE NAILS!!! They are the WORST thing you could do for your nails. Instead, paint them every week, one bite with nail polish on, and you'll NEVER do it again. I had the EXACT same problem, and my nails were VERY weak. I paint them with OPI nail envy, OPI nail laquer, and OPI top coat. THAT is the best thing you can buy, and the best thing you can do for yourr nails at this point. Plastic nail companies would like you to think that fake nails 'strengthen' and 'protect' nails, but oh are they wrong. Fake nails deteriorate your nails from the inside out, and are TERRIBLE for you.

I am sure the folks, at the nail salon have seen worse. I bite my own nails, as well maybe not as bad as you till they hurt. Ouch. Anyhow, just go early when they open, if you are that worried about it. I too, have to keep fake nails, on that is the only way I don't bite my own nails. Don't worry about it, if you want to get your nails done than do.

Don't be embarrassed if your real nails are in bad shape. I think I would wait and make sure the area around my nails was healed before I let them use chemicals on the those areas. Just a thought!!

I use to bite my nails the same way. I use to get fake nails done as well. Do not be embarssed. Trust me they have seen 10 times worse. It probably will be sore a little when you get them done. But just remember it will be worth it. Enjoy getting them done.

Will can't u get them done another time when ur nails have grown!!

U really shouldn't get fake nails i hate them soo much they look so fake and weird also my friend had her fake nails done and one of them came off and her whole finger nail came off it happens to everone and it looks so gross!!

dont be embarassed! once there done you wont be able to see them and they will look great. the ppl @ the nail salon see that everyday and im sure they wont know you anyway. but i will warn you that if your getting acrylics the red skin will burn very badly. atleast mine did. just be prepared cause it will probly hurt.

Don't be embarrassed. Remember these salons have dealt with much worse (i.e. smelly feet, fungus, etc.). I hope the fake nails help you kick the habit of biting your nails. :)

i bite my nails and i got them done recently too, i was embarrassed but i figured that they have probably seen worse nails than mine, plus don't worry because once you get them done you wont have anything to be embarrassed about, they'll look pretty.

i peel mynes and its just the same thing. it stings everytime i touch something. and people wont judge you on your nails. of all the things to judge you, your nails?seriously they wont.thats why you rgetting it done. at least ur getting it done and u can afford it unlike people who judge you. the salon people wont remember it. they probaly saw way worse then yours
