When will everyone grow up?

I am sick of hearing how the government needs to do things for people. When will everyone stand up and work hard for everything? I remember back when people were scared to get on welfare, now everyone tries to get on welfare. I am sick and tired of people saying it is the government’s job to give kids healthcare, if you can not afford it DON'T BREED!!!

Learn to take care of yourselves! Any opinions on this statement? agree? Disagree? Why?

Bruno: The role of OUR nation is to protect it's people not make them dependant on the government, which is what it is turning into.

Wyldfyr: Each one of those examples you stated have to deal with the PROTECTION of the people of this country. General welfare simply means the protection of all citizens against foes foreign and domestic. I look at it this way... How does the middle class American receive benefit from paying taxes in order to guarantee that the old and the poor receive medical treatment? This country has fouled up because of politicians it makes me sick. This country is not equal and never will be; it has turned to oppress the majority for the benefit of the minority.

-gun control so we can't protect ourselves
-Costly welfare programs that bankrupt businesses
-universal healthcare so we pay for those that don't work

I doubt if you are even old enough to remember what it was like before welfare was reformed during the Clinton administration, so that able bodied people had to work in order to continue receiving benefits.

i f**kin agree, i hate when ppl discourage thing like abortion or suicide. When u abort the fetus, it doesn't matter, it doesn't even have the thoughts or emotions to want to live yet. And suicide, if a person rather choose ending their live rather than living and putting up with the pain then go end it because if its religion, then religion to me is just humans working their imagination at a larger scale. also stop f**cking and having 4 kids at a time cus its gona contribute to overpopulation and were all gona die from no recources because of quadrupling our population!!

Sure! Just have the government stop giving handouts to mutli-billionaires (or have the gov't look the other way while multi-billionaires rob us blind) and we'll be fine!

The cost of welfare is dwarfed by the costs of no-bid contracts, corporate welfare, and trickle down economics.

But apparently, it's only a problem when poor people are getting the money.
