What happens if the Pats don't win the superbowl?

Will it actually be a huge disappointment even if they go 16 - 0?

They are by far the best team in years, and if they don't go 19 - 0 will it ruin their season and will more people remember the loss in the playoffs instead of their undefeated season?

This is also assuming they get by the Giants this saturday...they will though.

It would deffinetly be one hell of a waste of time for the fans and haters who have been following the pats all season. Yea I do think more people would remember the loss in the playoffs more than the undeafeted streak. It would deffinetly be a shame if they did lose though and we would never hear the end of it from whose ever team did beat them. Too bad that can't be me since the bears aren't going to the playoffs this year :(

Of course this would be a dissappointing season if they lose in the playoffs. (which i believe they will), especially with the way they have obviously went for the 16-0 record. I mean they didnt play their starters towards the end of the year those other years they won the SB, so to say they just want to win games is obsurd. Yes you play the regular season to win but the main objective is to put yourself in the best possible position to win the SB and the pats have already done that. 16-0 means nothing at all without a SB trophy. The playoffs are part of the season, to go the first half of the season (reg, season) 16-0 and lose 1 game in the second half (playoffs)means your season is OVER. Being undefeated in the second half is what matters. Dont get me wrong, they will have a ton records, some that may never be broken in a long while but to win no SB would be crushing and to me counts as a dissappointing season without a doubt. The goal for every team is to win the Super Bowl, wether that means going 16-0 or 8-8 and all that matters is that last game of the year.

I guess it depends on how they lose if they do go undefeated. If they lose to the Colts on a last second field goal, you can't really say much.

That doesn't take away from the fact that they would be only the second team in history to go 16-0. That is still something that is going to be talked about forever if they win this weekend.

Now if you ask any one of the players, they will all tell you that they'd rather go 10-6 with a superbowl ring than 16-0 without one. So, in a sense, the season would be tarnished by the fact that in the end, there was nothing to show for it.

Prediction: Giants 21 Patriots 17

The players in the NFL don't start out the season looking to go undefeated. Their main goal is to win the Super Bowl. With such a talented team, and such high expectations of them, I know the Patriot players would think it was a disappointing season if they didn't win the Super Bowl.

If they go undefeated along the way, that's an awesome bonus...........but the ultimate goal for an NFL team, is being crowned Champion at the end of the season.

Yes, it would be a HUGE disappointment.

Without the 19-0, they are still only the second best team to the '72 fins and all history will remember is the playoff loss.

If the Pats don't go 19-0, they will still be remembered as going undefeated in the reg season, but they have to be favored to win it all. if they don't then it was just a good regular season for them. kind of like the Mavericks last year. If Brady and Moss break the records then they have to win it all to make it complete. I don't even like the Pats, but it will be cool to see.

I don't think It will be a disappointing season. They have a perfect regular season but not in the playoffs. They will be the team that finished 16-0. They will remember Tom Brady breaking Peyton Manning record of touchdowns in a season,Randy Moss most Td reception in a season breaking Jerry Rice record,The most point score for a team, and going 16-0 ever.

I think the Pats are tuned in to what they must do, as they have been there 3 times to the end...I don't think they will let themselves rest until the clock hits 0 in the Super Bowl...

it would be devestating. to be as dominant as the pats have been all season and to lose out would trump the undefeated regular season. no doubt!

only a true patriots fan knows the answer to this one. 16-0 means nothing without a ring. its all about the rings.
