is it illegial for downloading music from online to youre ipod player?

because couples years ago i heard it illegiel to copy free musics from online and other stores that has their own music sites . that you can go to jail for download music . its that still happen .

It is only illegal if you dont purchase the music and use a free program like limewire. If you purchase the music from itunes then no it is not illegal to move it to your ipod.
