There seems to be TONS of 1964 nickles. Did the mint make alot more that year? Or maybe theres just tons in Missouri i dont know lol.

1964 is the year the nickel hit the billion mark, there were 1,024,672,000 struck at the Philadelphia mint and 1,787,297,160 and the Denver mint. It was not to 1999 that the over billion was reached again by the mints. I too get them in change a lot. Where you live has nothing to do with it for they are all over the place. I have noticed over the years a lot have strange coloring, that maybe due to the large amount made for they didn't inspect the blanks very well and some of the alloy was of poor quality.
