My 3 month old is always putting his fingers in his mouth. Sometimes he tries to get his whole fist in there! My hubby thinks he's hungry. I don't. Most of the time he's just eaten. Do you think he could be teething? He's also throwing up a little after each feeding. I don't think it's anything to worry about. Anyone else have this happen with their baby?

My son did that!! I said that he was teething, but everyone said that i was crazy because he was so young!! Sure enough about 2 weeks later he got his first tooth at 4 months old!! He also was a little cranky and had a slight fever. He did the spitting up thing for about 3 days too! good luck!

Sucking on fingers, hands, fists, pacifier is just part of self soothing. Maybe he's picking up on something else that is slightly upsetting him? And he needs to suckle to calm himself. No sucking on fists doesn't mean that the child is hungry. And it could be teething, but you never know until you see the little spots of white coming to the surface of the gum.

My baby is the same age and does exactly the same thing.
I think they are just exploring their bodies and trying to find something to suck on. My baby occassionally finds her thumbs but is not co-ordinated enough to keep it in her mouth for long enough!
It amazes me how she can fit her whole fist in her mouth!!!
I think they are totally normal!!!! Don't worry.

Could be teething I suppose. Babies like to munch on fingers. Sometimes they like to munch on other people's fingers too. Every baby I've ever been around has done it. It's normal.

I don't give my baby a pacifier so he puts his fingers in his mouth. He gets soothed from suckling. It is very normal.

My daughter is five months old and she is still sucking on her hands. It's just the whole learning process.

baby's are very different, it is ok for him to stick his hand or anything else that he can find in his mouth that is how they learn.
