Flair's an old school wrestler, who blades himself.

His blade jobs have always seemed dramatic, partially due to his white hair.

He's not the best bleeder, tho. For a REAL bleeder, you'd have to see stuff like Abdullah the Butcher, or old school Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes' forehead is a topographic map of blade jobs, and his blade jobs always stood out the same way Flair's did because of white hair.

Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Tommy Rich are the greatest "bleeders" in wrestling.

The cuts are to their foreheads where there is almost no fat and muscle under the skin. A small cut to the forehead will cause what looks like a tremendous amount of blood loss but because the blood is on their faces it looks MUCH worse than it actually is. When I was a kid I got a cut just above my eyebrow and it bled all over my face. My mother reacted as if my skull had gotten crushed. But after she washed the blood off she found a cut about an inch long, not very deep. It didn't even need stitches.

In all of the history of pro wrestling no wrestler has ever died from blood loss. There have been times when the "blading" was done too deep and the guy will lose more blood than he intended but if there was danger that he might "collapse" the referee will stop the match and get the wrestler to medical attention.

I think that for the most part, the blood is almost always real, the cut itself, however, is usually self-inflicted. I can remember vividly the day my step-father broke my heart. I used to rent the Wrestlemanias once the became available because I couldn't talk my parents into buying the pay-per-view. I don't remember which one it was, but Hogan got real bloody and my step-father caught the moment Hogan cut himself. He took the remote and keep playing it back over and over in slow-mo laughing hysterically. That was the day wrestling changed forever, sigh.
