I completely agree, without him and his ratings they needed everything they could muster up, and with his merchandise sales slipping WWEShop must be hurting some too, he was always selling the most. Cena loves the company and everything he does he is grateful for, where was Batista in Iraq? Cena was there FU'ing Vince.... so he had alot of help, Batista was perfectly fine, sitting at home, thinking he's better then us.
I respect Cena
even after taking disrespect from CNN he is still loved and he pulled the most fans.

I agree with your statement. I will admit to being a Cena hater along time ago. i despised him. however when i read the results after Summerslam went off the air..i couldn't never hate the guy again..he actually got a fan's sign and held it up high and told the crowd to bring it. btw the sign said " If Cena Wins We Riot". After i read that i knew i could never hate him again..besides its not like he cant wrestle..if you watch any of his OVW tapings..he does have skill..his gimmicks however hinder his move sets..which sucks because thats horrible in my honest opinion.
However, the WWE needs Cena..Cena helped build the past few years for kids watching. And with the new audience its obvious that they will buy his merchandise. And having him be the 7th most wanted wrestler to sign autographs is pretty good. These haters really need to learn theres more to life then just bashing wrestlers who are trying to entertain us. I've seen the light and i'm done bashing. Its pointless. Everyone else should stop as well. Your not winning an award or anything by it so why do it?
Cena getting injured really killed their ratings and unfortunately it doesn't look like they will go up anytime soon. Jericho is refreshing to see because Cena was getting boring but of course wasn't his fault.
Cena getting injured put a low blow to the WWE..2007..bad year for wrestling injuries..

Unfortunately the WWE do NEED Cena. The Raw brand is hurting because of his injury. Orton just isn't selling as champ. Having Jericho back is a major coup for Raw, and one that will boost flagging sales and air-time for a short time. JBL I don't think will have any impact at all, not unless he goes back to the Bradshaw gimmick and pairs up with Ron Simmons again, HBK is a great pull for the show, but with his knees in such bad shape he is limited by how much punishment he can actually take, although he's at as much of 100% as he can be.
Whether you like him or not, you can't argue with the revenue and the ratings that Cena pulls in. It's just a shame he's going to come back with the same dreary gimmick!

Brandon has the best answer so far...I can't really add anything to it. Cena is a good wrestler...he's just not allowed to show it. Even during his Smackdown days, he had a lot more moves. He did a spinebuster...he did the "throwback" a lot more than he does now...and various other moves.
Cena's the hardest working guy in the business. Hands down. WWE needs him back. Wrestling-Edge.com had a blurb up today stating that he's way ahead of schedule rehabbing his arm and may be back to interfere in Orton's match at 'Mania. The sooner he comes back...the better. Not just because I am a Cena fan...it's just fact.

Of course the WWE needed Cena
He was their biggest draw. After all the scandals and injuries of the past few Years losing John Cena for this long was a blow the WWE could ill afford to suffer at such a critical juncture.
And most of the die hard Cena haters are know nothing marks to start out with anyway.
i say the sooner Cena comes back....the better for The WWE

If WWE wouldn't have pushed Cena and only Cena all this time they wouldn't be in this spot. Look at when Austin had his neck broken, Austin had a hell of a lot more fans than Cena ever will, but WWE still managed to attract a lot of viewers because they had pushed guys like The Rock, HHH, The Undertaker, and Mick Foley to main event status along with Austin, it's WWE's own damn fault.

Yes, because 50% to 60% of the viewers are children and women. The people who LOVE John Cena. I know some MEN love him too. But I don't like him or LOVE him, I respect him as an in-ring competitior.

While you do have valid points, the problem is this:
The WWE did a similar thing with John Cena that they did with Brock Lesnar: pushed him WAY too much on the fans. Instead of letting the guy develop and prove himself in more matches, the WWE made him champion.
The same thing happened with Randy Orton once Brock Lesnar left. They pushed Orton so much and wanted him to "override" Brock Lesnar's record age for being the World Champion in the WWE.
But I see your point. However, this cascade of events with bringing back the older wrestlers older fans favored was coming from miles and miles away.

**The Icon- Vince McMahon and other WWE authority begged for HBK to return. He was planning not to after Randy Orton "kicked" him.
