For commercial skiing the highest run is the Vallee Blanche, France, which is the glacier which snakes down the side of Mont Blanc, where there is a cable car to the top of the glacier at 2300m. A stunning run to do-- it takes a couple of hours--shorter if you are a confident skiier but requires a guide to help you avoid going down a crevasse!!
