I just installed The Sims 2 Seasons on my computer. After installation, the graphics for walls, floors and the ground outside are flashing red, dark red, white, instead of the graphics they are supposed to show. I tried reinstalling it, but its still doing the same thing. According to support.ea.games, it is most likely my video card causing the problem, but I don't understand how it could be, as the system requirements are the same for the regular Sims 2 as they are for the Sims Seasons, and Sims 2 worked fine with my video card. Anyway, I don't know how to check what video card I'm using, and so could someone tell me, either how to check that, or, if you've experienced a similar problem with the Sims Seasons, what I can do to fix it?

System requirements are not technically the same. Your computer is generating a whole lot more stuff (in terms of graphics) by adding Seasons - especially the weather effects themselves - that it wasn't doing with the game on its own.

You can find out your video card type by going to the Start menu, then choosing "run". Type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes) and run that. It brings up the diagnostic info of your entire computer. Under the display tab, you can see your video card.

First things first: try updating your video card drivers. (When you find out the brand of your video card, you can visit that website and get the latest drivers for your card model.) If that doesn't work, you'll definitely need a new video card. That's a hardware project best left to the experts (unless you know how to install one yourself).
