Hey guys, I don't know what the hell you're talking about with the battery because iPods have INTERNAL LITHIUM ION. Meaning you CANNOT REMOVE IT like you would with a creative zen or some other battery powered device. When the freezing happens to me, I just have to leave it unplugged until it runs out of juice, then just recharge it.

It sucks, but its a temporary workaround before going through the business of returning it to the manufacturer and being without it for weeks.

That, or put it in the microwave and hit 'Defrost.'

These things mess up alot. My friend has had 4. The good news is if you send it in they can fix it or give you a new one.
But if you can't wait try plugging it into a charger or computer. Hold the on button or take out the battery. Good luck.

Reset it by holding down the button in the middle of the wheel and the button at the top of the wheel. Do this for a few seconds and it should restart. A demonstration of this is also on their website. I have to do it to mine every once in a while.

restart it
first put it on hold for 3 seconds.
then hold down on the center and menu button at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screan.
it should be fine after that

NOOOOOOOOO DON'T TAKE OUT THE BATTERY

push the middle button and the menu button at the same time. It should shut off after 5 seconds. Then turn it back on!

Hi dont worry its happens, all you need to do is press and hold menu and the middle circular button wait until you see the apple icon then let go, this will reset the ipod.

You will not lose anything whilst doing this.

Thanks

Sometimes I have to flip the lock (or whatever it's called) switch on and off a few times before the other buttons will respond.

press and hold down menu and the center button for about 6 seconds until you see the apple logo. it should unfreeze then. i also think there's a trouble shooting section in the menu, if that helps.
