Dated one with a drug problem and it just got worse. No way a person can make it work with a person who just doesn't care about himself or anyone else. Drugs and other friends who did drugs were all that mattered to him. Married an alcoholic. Same crap, just another day.

I once dated someone with a severe gambling addiction... like something you'd see on "Intervention." I had to leave the relationship. It's hard, but in short order life gets way better!

My ex still does both. Marriage is no picnic when you add that in with all the other problems.

Yes, I was going to be his savior and get him clean. He would thank me forever and fall madly deeply in love with me. How co-dependent am I? :)

Not dated, no. But a lot of my close friends became addicted to marijuana in High School. They justified it by saying, we're in high school and we just want to have fun, and it ended up being a problem for them.
