Me and my friend want to play a game, but being a video game novice I have no idea how to even turn her brother's ps3 on...and no we can't ask anyone no one's here to help us,

you flip the switch in the back and then hover over the button in the front that looks like power and touch it and whalla your ps3 is on

the power button is the button closest to the corner where you put a disc in. hold it down for a few seconds. If that doesnt work, grab a controller and hold the middle button(the ps logo) until you here the ps3 beep. Make sure there is a red light showing on the system too, which shows that the ps3 has power

The power button is located on the upper right hand corner ! You have to press and hold it for 2 seconds then it should boot on !

Well if yo can't find the Power Button on the console, i think you can use the controller to turn it on, the button in the middle...i think.
