But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

This is quoted from the American Declaration of Independence!

"The history of our race, and each individual's experience, are sown thick with evidence that a truth is not hard to kill and that a lie told well is immortal."
Mark Twain

Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
Mark Twain

No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the congress is in session.
Mark Twain

Congressman is the trivialist distinction for a full grown man.
Mark Twain

Fleas can be taught nearly anything that a Congressman can.
Mark Twain

If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.
Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you and may posterity forget that ye were once our countrymen."
Samuel Adams

We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our calling and our creeds… we will have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account, but we will be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow suffers… And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes a precedent foe another… till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery… And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in it’s train wretchedness and oppression.
Thomas Jefferson 1743-1826

"... whenever any form of government becomes destructive ... it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it..."
Thomas Jefferson

The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office.
Henry Louis Mencken (1880- 1956)

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
Henry Louis Mencken (1880- 1956 )

When a new source of taxation is found it never means, in practice, that an old source is abandoned. It merely means that the politicians have two ways of milking the taxpayer where they had only one before.
H L Mencken

Government is actually the worst failure of civilized man. There has never been a really good one, and even those that are most tolerable are arbitrary, cruel, grasping and unintelligent.
H L Mencken

The only good bureaucrat is one with a pistol at his head. Put it in his hand and it's good-bye to the Bill of Rights.
H L Mencken

Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods.
H L Mencken

The trade of governing has always been monopolized by the most ignorant and the most rascally individuals of mankind.
Thomas Paine

Vote ! Vote for anyone that's "NOT" a Dem or a Rep!!

Midas, they say, possessed the art of old
Of turning whatsoe'er he touch'd to gold;
This modern statesmen can reverse with ease -
Touch them with gold, they'll turn to what you please.
~John Wolcot

Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason.

There are many men of principle in both parties in America, but there is no party of principle.
Alexis de Tocqueville

The average Joe or Jane would be better!

They would be hard pressed to do as much damage as the Dems and Reps!

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.
Will Rodgers

If we continue to ask for truth, then refuse to listen.
Mankind will forever, be doomed to destruction.

"The trouble isn't that there are too many fools, but that the lightning isn't distributed right."
Mark Twain

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

How about you quote somthing of this manner from a non-partisan site. Judicial Watch receives all of it's funding from conservative groups which have a vandetta against particular politicians which happens to be overwhelmingly democrat.

Isn't it interesting how there is no reference on Rep. Duncan Hunter, Sen. Ted Stevens, Rep. William Jefferson or even John Murtha.

Personally I say there are a number of corrupt politicians not included in this list. It appears to me this list is compiled more on news stories and falsehoods then true corruption.

That's because Judicial Watch targets prominent politicians - they don't bother with those below the radar, without much influence or power. So it's a circular argument - frontrunners are on the list because the list consists of frontrunners and big players.

Judicial Watch, btw, is funded by Scaife Foundations. That's an interesting group to look into.

Hillary did many illegal things for which she was never prosecuted. One was stealing the FBI files of private citizens and other things were sending people to threaten and terrorize the women who were her husband's victims.

Huckabee is very corrupt and was part of the Clinton cabal in Arkansas.

Rudy is also working right now with his lawfirm to destroy the American sovereignty for money and Obama is just not too bright. Not sure what he has done to be corrupt.

Although both sides are corrupt. Republicans had slightly higher amounts of earmarks. This is what the link website says about itself

Judicial Watch fulfills its educational mission through litigation, investigations and public outreach.

PROBLEM: Whether they are naming republicans or democrats the words they use are they might have used their influence, because they are in that position it looks like......

Wow! This is disturbing. Two of my favorites Obama and Huckabee are on there. At least they aren't #1. I have to vote for someone.

MONEY. Why should we trust you? If you can't share your reasons for supporting Hillary don't expect people to just take your word for it. She is considered the most corrupt of all politicians. I have a real problem with support any of the candidates on this list, especially number one.

Judicial Watch claims to be a non-partisan site. But if you will check into them farther, you will find that it is run by a Conservative group. Didn't you wonder why Cheney or some of the Republicans weren't on the list? That should have been you first clue.

I would be very interested to see if this site has any particular allegiances. I've never heard of this Judicial Watch before. The fact that Bush and Cheney are not on this list, or Ashcroft or Gonzales also makes me question how impartial it is.

I am not saying that I believe the report but:

How in the hell would reports of Rep. Conyers supposedly using his staff for personal reasons be more serious than the allegations against Obama?

I also agree that the preponderance of Presidential candidates on the list seems very slanted and misguided not to include more Bushies. How about Ted Stevens?

I am proud to say that my candidate, John Edwards is not on the list for what that is worth.
