My nephew recently moved to Melbourne for work. As a result he doesn't get to see his beloved ACT Brumbies, but there's always pay TV.

He told me he went to a pub with some work friends and started to watch AFL. He says he's never watched a full game in his life. His friend suggested he support Collingwood. He asked me about that and I said "Don't support Collingwood, all the fans are Booners"

He lives in Fitzroy and has yet to select a team. Who do you suggest? Note - they will be his second favourite team becuase of the ACT Brumbies

tell him not to follow Collingwood. If he does his class of fellow supporters will drop well below that of other clubs. If he is moving from ACT to Melbourne tell him to follow the Sydney Swans. That way he will be following a team who will always be above most Victorian teams.

The bombers are a team who have a healthy membership, and not likely to go interstate to survive. They have a new coach, and look like an interesting club to follow.
Essendon players don't appear to have any scandal attached to them, and get on with professionalism.

I reckon he should choose an victorian team(not Collingwood).
I suggest Geelong, Hawthorn or Essendon.

Might aswell start at the top mate (Geelong)

So long as he doesn't go for Hawthorn than he'll turn out just fine

you would be mad not to support geelong with the team they have at present, but will they suffer the dreaded hangover, heard they are still celebrating down geelong way, maybe there will be a bolter, probably not.

its up to him, pick a team and stick with them.

Tell him to support a team with the highest paid membership, state of the art gym, clubrooms, and training facilities. A club that has a bright future and don't need to worry about relocating and all the money issues. You know what team I am talking about..................ADELAIDE CROWS.
