Itf the tree fell from city property onto your property, it would be the city's responsibility. If it was a neighbors tree, it would be his responsibility. If your own tree fell on your own property, it is up to you to have it removed. Call a tree service listed in the phone book. If it is the city's tree, call the city street department, or parks department and ask about tree removal. If you have homeowner's insurance, it might cover some of the cost. Call your insurance agent first before you do anything.

If the tree is in YOUR backyard, it's YOUR responsibility, and you need to call a tree service, and they will come and clean it up for you. Depending on where you live (if it's cold) it might be a little cheaper this time of year because there's not a lot of work right now for them. Good Luck!

If the tree is close to power lines I would call the electric company in your area and they could also guide you on what needs to be done.

Look in the yellow pages under tree service or arborists. If you know someone who uses firewood he might clean it up for free but he keeps the wood.

If you decide you need to take care of it yourself. You can put an ad on local craigslist.com for free wood and they have to cut it themselves and clean up. Then stand back and watch them do the work for you. lol

You have to do it. You can call the city and see if they will help or recommend someone.
It took me a couple of weeks but I got mine cut up and stacked all by myself.
Made me feel like a macho lumber jack!

All depends on weather you own your home or rent. If you rent, call the landlord. If you own your home contact your home owners insurance company, they should cover the expense minus any deductible.
