Here's the scenario....... You can plead you charge down to a misdemeanor charge of Terroristic Threats. Then of course you say.... Well, I can't work if I have a felony on my record. Then you take the plea bargin.

This is what is happening to alot of people in ************. Everything from Domestic Disputes to Disorderly Conduct can be pleaded down to a Misdemeanor meaning Terrorristics Threats.
It's good because you don't have to spend time in jail. but you sacrifice the chance to maintain or obtain a good paying job. Most employers don't know this is a low-grade charge. They read it and think TERRORISTS! And for those of us who cannot afford a decent attorney,we have to take those kinds of deals. I am ready for the closed minded "Shouldn't get in trouble." answers. There are circumstances outside of all reasonable explaination why we find ourselves in these situations. I don't expect those who have not had any experience with the law to understand what I am feeeling

I don't know about your jurisdiction, but I can guarantee you that in most jurisdictions, terroristic threatening is a higher charge than disorderly conduct. (Generally disorderly conduct is a very low grade misdemeanor, and it's always better to plead to disorderly conduct if you feel you have to plead to something.) However, if you are faced with a domestic assault and plead to that, you won't have any better chance at employment than if you plead to terroristic threatening. I certainly understand where you are coming from because a lot of people will plead to lesser offenses because a number of factors, even people who aren't guilty of what they were charged with in the first place, especially with a guarantee of no jail time or a guarantee that they will be released from jail that day. When looking for a job, explain to potential employers what the charge means BEFORE they check your record instead of waiting for them to check it.

I am sorry that you believe there are circumstances that require illegal actions. If you are facing a felony charge, there are many misdemeanor charges that are more directly related to the crime. As an example, if you are charged with felonious assault, you can plead it down to misdemeanor assault.

Many employers won't hire a person with any criminal background. The word terrorist has no magical power.

I would agree with your conspiracy thought "keep us down" as long as the "us" you are referring to are people that are unable to follow the law.

I love the fact that criminals attempt to excuse their behavior with comments like "There are circumstances outside of all reasonable explanation why we find ourselves in these situations." yet never present these circumstances where reasonable people would say, well yeah.

Besides, the law has provisions (such as self defense) when an action that would otherwise be illegal becomes legal.

Your statement "this is happening to alot of people in **************" shows that you're a typical example of whining liberals making you believe that what ever you do is someone elses fault. I don't care if your mommy didn't buy you a pony for your 4th birthday, mine didn't either. AMF, and say hi to "Ben Dover" in lockup!

Terrorism is a demand for justice just like what the Arabs are doing against Israel and America.
