I was in one which lost its controls and started to free-fall. I hit the emergency stop and, thankfully, the brakes held. Security called and, after finding out the problem, told me that they would inch the elevator to the next floor so that I could exit. They then called back to ask me if I still had the emergency stop on. I said yes and they told me to release it so that they could move the elevator. I did and they moved it to the next floor and opened the door. As I stepped out, the car released again and dropped down to the bottom floor. That was one ride that I am glad I missed.

Yes. It happened after class one day while I was going to college. I was not scared, but a couple girls in my class were in there freaking out and really getting on my nerves.
We were in there about 1/2 hour and the maintainence people lowered the elevator to the bottom floor and let us out. It was no big deal.

Yes, and I was scared only because I was stuck with my brother and a guy that was completely wasted and baked on Thanksgiving. Worst 45 minutes of my life.

yes
as part of training we had to know how to lower a lift to get the people out and also to feel what people stuck in a lift felt
so we were put in the lift and the power was turned off
even knowing the lift wasn't stuck it still felt quite eerie

no I would have died of a heart attack on the spot. I HATE ELEVATORS! something about traveling at 60mph in between the walls just makes me ill. Being stuck in one, that's a whole other story, dead, I would die lol
