too young to remember:
Roosevelt in the Adirondacks
Truman in Key West Florida
Eisenhower in Gettysburg
JFK at Hyanissport/Cape Cod
LBJ at the Johnson Ranch
Nixon in San Clemente
Ford in Palm Springs
Carter on his Peanut Farm and Camp David
R. Reagan at his California Ranch cutting wood and riding his horses
Bush Sr in Maine
Clinton walking the beaches of St Thomas along Maegan's Bay

or too young to realize even the lowest grade GSA gets
about 2 and 1/2 months off a year?..with all of the 4 day work weeks... liberal leave.. vacation and holidays..

the typical envy and hatred is a joke

I really don't care how much time past Presidents spent away from the White House. Each situation was unique, so there can not be any true comparison.

The present Commander in Chief, catching up on weekend ranch chores however, is a loud and disrespectful slap in the face to every soldier in the sandbox.

As I recall Bush (I) was always going to Kennebunkport, Maine and the Clintons were always going to Martha's Vineyard. Other presidents used Camp David which Bush seldom uses. A lot of Americans are on vacation during the Christmas/New Year season so I don't think he takes any more vacations than the former presidents.;

would you rather have a president make critical decisions wile surrounded by the press and his staff? Rosevelt made is best decisions about ww2 wile on vacation. Bush seems to need a lot of time off.

I'd kill for that kind of vacation time!

I've read estimates of like 418 days of vacation. That's like 70 days per year!

Maybe, if you mean Bush he should be on a permanent vacation. He would do less damage.
