You cant ask your mom or other female role model this question? Stop worrying to much, you are only 14.

Just as a precaution, I think that you should see a gynecologist if you have never seen one. This is not just for women having sex, but for any woman who has questions about their womanhood. As far as missing your period and not having cramps, many women have irregular cycles and I personally have never had the "bad" cramps that women describe. However, other factors like family history can play an important role, so I think you should talk to your mom and a gynecologist. Its always better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck

Well first of all you might want to check with a doctor, second thing I would try is find out what blood type you are... I say this because when you know that you can start researching the types of foods that are good for you. Like for example, I love milk but because of my blood type I shouldn't be drinking a lot because it gives me really bad cramps and tends to make my period last longer. Believe it or not the types of food you eat and the way your body is treated affects your body in more than one way

It's normal for it to take a few years for one's cycle to even out; I wouldn't worry about it quite yet. If, however, the space between your cycles starts spacing out even further, you should probably go see an OB/GYN. They have tests they can run to determine the cause, and a possible treatment. I was put on birth control to regulate my cycle because it had stopped completely for over a year and I was afraid to ask anyone about it, even though I wasn't sexually active at the time. Now I AM facing the possibilty of barreness because I didn't get the help I should have. Some women never have totally regular cycles with no negative effects on their fertility whatsoever. As long as you have them, and they are somewhat regular, you shouldn't worry too much.

I don't get cramps either (never have) and I'm much older than you. I have children. I hear that it's common for young females to have irregular periods so I would worry too much about that. If it continues to be irregular you might want to go see a doctor. Some young females go on birth control pills to regulate their periods (you need not be sexually active).

A lot of times when you're young, your period will be totally irregular. It's nothing to worry about sweetie, there's nothing wrong with you.

When I was younger the same thing happened to me so I started taking birth control even though I wasn't having sex and it made my period regular.

You don't have anything to worry about at this point. Lots of teens have irregular periods. No cramps is a blessing too.

Actually my older sister used to go for months without hers even when she was 20.

Now she has two beautiful kids.

If you still have really long cycles later on go to a gynecologist and talk to him/her about it. You should be having your first visit pretty soon anyway.

Katie Y: maybe she dont feel comfortable asking her mother any questions so she's not a freak and she have every right to ask a question if she want to.

It's OK for it to come sporadically when you're young. It can take years to regulate itself, and for some women it never does. You might get cramps and other PMS symptoms later on in life, and then again you might not (consider yourself lucky!) However, you need to see an OB/GYN for an exam to make sure everything is OK if you are really unsure. It couldn't hurt to ask a professional!

Maybe it is normal because in the first couple of years its irregular like me but if your that worried go see a doctor. Thats the best thing to do to be sure. You should also talk with your mom about it if you haven't already.
