Apparently when you paid an attorney a "Retainer" the attorney is working off of that balance. Once the retainer balance goes to zero, you will get another bill. So from the sounds of it...you have a remaining retainer balance, which in my opinion is a good thing.

You pay a Lawyer a retainer (cash of some amount the lawyer charges) The remaining balance is what he has not earned yet and should be returned.
