RTFM. Read the PC User Manual from cover to cover or look on the manufacturer's website for more info (FAQs, Forums and Support Pages).
It should tell you that you need a Wireless Access Point (or WiFi Router) connected between your PC and your Cable / DSL Modem. Read the Router User Manual, too.
Then, when you're sure all instructions have been followed, and your still stuck, call your ISP. That's what they do.

first, you need a wireless router to connect to your modem. the router sends the signal out. then if its an older laptop, you probably need to get a wireless card for it. if its new, it might have one built in. then try to find wireless connection on the laptop and try to connect to your network

The way to connect will bepend. Please indicate if it already has wireless capabilities. If not does it have a PCMCIA slot? If not, does it have an available USB port? If you do not know the answer to these questions go to the manufacturers website and look at the users guide for specifications. Once you have these answers contact me and I will tell you which way to go for the fastest/cheapest way to connect to wireless.
