Do yourself a big favor today and start a new Yahoo e-mail address and use it only for Yahoo Answers. Don't tell anyone it is you. Use a really different name so he can't figure out it's you. Be sure you don't tell any friends either in case one of them may tell him. The best way to get rid of this is to change your E-mail address for now. Also, if he e-mails simply put them in a folder in the account. Don't answer and don't respond. Don't tell any friends either...he may have a mutual friend that is telling him all of this. I would guess that he is in your fan club with a fake ID. Then he can follow your questions and answers. He will quit when he gets no reaction from you.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but anything on the 'net is "forever."
All he has to do is pull-up a search engine, type-in some parameters, and have it go to town.
I have typed questions/search terms into Google and been referred to Y!A several times!
If he is harassing you, contact your local law enforcement and talk to them about the issue. You may or may not be able to act on his researching you...which is NOT illegal, unless he is doing so using illegal means.
As for setting your Y!A settings to the highest privacy settings available, all that means is if I click on your name/avatar, I will see a "blank" profile. Your answers are still fair game in the forums.
EDIT:
To "Keeping It Real"
What you are describing is a violation of several laws, and breaking Telecommunications laws as he has done result in SERIOUS penalties. Report the twit...and I don't mean to his boss! Swear-out a criminal complaint! This kind of activity can be traced, but ONLY if there is a request by the police! His behaviour will only escallate until he does something "permanent" like physically attack you!

We discovered that my husband's ex-girlfriend was reading both of our myspace pages (before they had privacy settings) and knew everything about our personal life just from readng the site and our friend's comments. Our solution was to delete our pages and not subscribe to anything that she or her friends could possibly read.
A bonus is that we discovered that most friendships on those sites are superficial. Wouldn't it be nice if you friends actually called you once in a while?
I don't know how to change the privacy setting on this forum as I believe it is public. You might consider changing your log-in name. But realize that even strangers can stalk you on these public forums.

Inform the Police, and tell him that you have done so! He probably means no harm at all, and will soon get over it and move on; but it's best to nip these things in the bud before they escalate and at least then he would then be able to see how seriously you view this kind of behaviour. Believe me, when the Police issue him with a warning, either written or verbal, he will think twice before doing something like this again.

Report him to yahoo answers. You need to let the police know because any kind of stalking is against the law. Anyone can look at the answers unless yahoo locks them out I think. New laws for the internet are coming into effect all the time because of stalking and child porn. Again Report him!!

Not much. My ex got my new number and voice mail password and he would check my voice mail. I haven't seen him in over a year and he has been checking my voice mail since we broke up. Now that's psycho. I called his boss and told his boss about it. He texted me out of the blue telling me about this guy I was dating and he also told me my password. I've gotten them all and there is really nothing you can do to stop him.

Well I don't know where you are at here on answers but it probably would be worth it to change your identity and if you can do that without losing your points then that is all the better. Good luck!

ok saying hello to him isn't going to help either. If your settings are set to private then I dont see how unless he knows your password or something or knows someone else to use to see them. He could also be using a different email/name/screenname and doing it that way....change your email and your YA name and go form there..Good Luck! Oh yea and report him to YA!

The guy who said call 911 is not giving the proper advice.
If he hasn't physically harmed you then there is nothing you
can do. I'm sure he will eventually get bored and move on.

No real answer here, I just feel for you. It is sad that people have to use other people to validate themselves. He does not understand that you are person, not a possession. He needs to get a life and stop messing up yours. I wish you well.
