The team will begin to be built around him, but there will be a steep learning curve because the offense lacks credible big-play weapons at WR and the O-line is O-so-bad. It will be a year of gaining experience, but don't expect J-Rus to make a sudden impact at the QB spot. This is a 3-4 year project that begins in 2008-2009.

Jamarcus Russell has a wealth of potential, he could easily turn into a Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb type of quarterback in the future. Right now, he needs to develop accuracy, he can launch the long ball and scrambles well enough, but accuracy has been an issue. With a better offensive line and more talented wide receivers, as you mentioned, he could certainly become a respected NFL quarterback, possibly a top ten quarterback down the road.

I DON'T THINK SO!
Just a note... the best answer will get 10 points, not 5 bro'... you lost 5 points for asking a question that has already been answered against Jags! Even if he develops in good QB (which I think is not very likely), it WON'T be NEXT YEAR... plus, he plays for Raiders.

Nope. Not next year. He missed all of training camp this year and because of that he didnt get to start for them. If he went to training camp and got to play this year I would say that yes he would be one of the best next year. He doesnt have enough experience to be a good starting QB. Also he needs some good WRs to throw to first. They never shoulda got rid of Randy Moss. If they had a good QB it would be the Raiders who are undefeated and not the Pats.

It takes a couple of years for rookie QBs to adapt to an NFL systems. Russell will be no different. We'll find out how good he really his a couple of years from now. The Raiders need to make sure they talented guys around him or his skills won't really matter.

No. He will still be playing for the Raiders. And the Raiders will be as bad next year as they have been this year. And he needs a couple of seasons to mature before he will be a top QB, if ever.

No, not even close. He's shown little to no development this year, and hasn't even picked up the Raiders playbook that well. Holding out of camp and limited game and practice reps = no improvement. It was a stupid idea for him to hold out, and how he sucks. And will continue to for at least another couple of years, especially in Oakland.

Yell No. In his Rookie Year he skipped training camp. Next year he will do ok. I think next year he will get these stats

-2200 yards
-14 TDs
21 Int.

He will be a good quarterback in 2-3 years

No he will never be one of the top QB's in the NFL. He will be one of the many first pick busts.
