Alcohol
Alcohol is a drug that depresses the central nervous system. Even after one drink (1 oz of hard liquor, 1 beer, 1 glass of wine), driving ability is impaired. Driving while intoxicated is illegal in the United States. Each state has its own laws regarding the allowable BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). Many states have settled on .08 as the legal BAC limit, while others use the less restrictive .10 BAC limit. As a rough guide, an average 170-pound male reaches a .08 BAC level after consuming four drinks in an hour, and a 137-pound female reaches it after consuming three drinks in an hour.

tobacco and alcohol both affect the nervous system as well as other systems. The effect of alcohol is easy to measure because people get disoriented and have fuzzy thinking. Tobacco is not so noticable but it does constrict the blood vessels.

Tell you what, if you can go one year without smoking weed, then I will admit that you are not addicted and I will support the legalization of weed. However, if you fail, I will continue my belief that it is an addictive substance that ruins peoples' lives. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

Do you mean besides Caffeine? Why do you want to measure the effect? Caffeine alert pills are the strongest and most dangerous, especially for young adults.

caffeine does that, quite legally. Alcohol as well. Measuring pulse rate and blood pressure might work with the first, reaction times with the second.

I would recommend caffeine because it is a CNS stimulant and will produce measurable changes in physiology, e.g. heart rate. In addition, you can purchase it cheaply and legally (OTC) and in precisely metered 200 mg pharmaceutical grade tablets, so you will be able to quantify the physiological response at different doses. Enjoy!

Caffeine, Hoodia, Guarana-pretty much all the same thing- I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you mean, effect could be measured quantitatively by blood pressure/pulse

DDT, DDE, and DDD
DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) is a pesticide and DDE (dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene) and DDD (dichlorodiphenyldichloroethane) are chemicals similar to DDT that contaminate commercial DDT preparations.
DDT affects the nervous system. People who accidentally swallowed large amounts of DDT became excitable and had tremors and seizures.

are u talking about getting high legally? If so just do something that u enjoy to get "high" like surfing or playing a sport or cliff diving or something. Tony hawk or some other skateborder said that skatebording was his high. It gives you more of a rush and u have better outcomes.
But if thats not what you were talking about i just wasted 2 minutes of both of our time
