I don't understand what you wish to do here. What does, "looking to be able to 'extra' web content from the web" mean? Just looking at the phrase and word I assume it may mean, "extract" instead of 'extra', is that correct?

If so, I am thinking you would need some html experiance, and then copy/paste the code into the software program of your choice, such as Excel or Acess which allow the gathering and minipulation of all sorts of data, including code.

You might need to first transfer the code to Notepad, which comes in all versions of Windows, and then transfer it to another program, once it is saved in the format of your choice.

Do some research on the web for such applications. There is a free office suite called Open Office, and you can access and download the programs at:

http://www.openoffice.org

Check that out and see if it may fit your needs if you do not currently have Microsoft Office. Many people who are growing tired of Microsofts outragous prices and all the security flaws and updates the programs require, are turning to Open Office. It has a word processor, an spread sheet program, a data base program, and other programs simular to Microsoft Office, only they are free and anyone can download, use, and even change the programs to suite their own particular needs. The code is free which is why it is called Open.

Good luck and I hope you locate what you require, please have a nice day.

You can save web pages to your local disk.

For example, with firefox, you go File=>Save Page As...
You then pick "Web page, complete" to create a directory (folder) on your local disk where it will save all the images, or just "Web page, HTML only" just to save the text without the images.

You can save most images and some other media by right clicking and choosing the appropriate save option.
