I agree. I posted a similar question earlier.
While I feel both Bush and Congress are to blame, I found Bush's comments particularly distressing. His spokesman said that Bush was disappointed with Congress' "earmark addiction".
The comment is almost insulting. If Bush is so disappointed to "earmark addiction", then don't sign the #%#$ bill!!! Send it back to Congress and make them do it again!

Because people continually vote in people who are happy to spend our money to get votes. This is currently almost all politicians, all party affiliation. Our people have learned they can vote themselves money from our national "treasury". This is about the only thing that can destroy a democracy. There are too many greedy, lazy people.

Squandering??? That's only your opinion! According to multinational corporations, this is a BARGAIN! They get the protection of the strongest military in the world, protecting their interests, and they don't have to pay for it---US TAXPAYERS DO!
What a deal!

You mean spending? It requires money to keep the federal government running. It would be bad if the government suddenly shut down.

Oh boy ! It sounds like we will need yet another tax cut for the rich. That's what Republicans always do when we are in debt.
