Mine is that I'm the only person in the entire known universe that actually likes them, but because no one else does they feel they are doing me a favor by NOT giving me one.

My theory is that you didn't make it with your own loving hands with lots of fruit and nuts and send it to me. Then it would be in crumbs. Would I lie about fruitcake? No.

I think there's a secret society of people that love fruit cake and keep producing it each year. Making sure there's enough to go around, even though not everyone wants it :)
This society will ensure centuries of unwanted fruit cakes.

Much like Chia Pets. They stopped making them 10 years ago. Only people keep re-gifting them and they're still in circulation. No ones bought one in 12 years.

My theory from John M. is that fruitcakes are actually Alien's from other planets sent here to observe us..... Their nasty taste is an sensory defense so you won't probe to deeply....

They are as useful and tasty as my grandmother's jello mold......that is to say I get queasy thinking of them.........I'd much rather ingest airplane food for the duration of a year than be subjected to the imbecilic food preperations of either monstrosity
