theres nothing wrong with analysis things. but you know you are boardering abnormality when you analyse everything you see for far too long. that is when it becomes detrimental mostly to you.

an example is for instance you are dating someone and he hurts you then you break up. the next person who asks you out, you check how he talks to you, how he behaves around other people, the words he says you find their meanings in dictionaries,you look for a getsure handybook to try and interpret his gestures, and all that is before you agree to go out with him on a date. when you do go out for that first date, you check what he wears, how he eats, where he takes you.....you catch the drift? that is over analitical and it is wrong, because eventually you are gonna break up with him because he wore a green pair of socks with his white sneakers

best regards...cheers

Over Analytical

it is used 2 different ways.

some people mean that an overly-analytical person analyzes things over and over and over - never getting to a decisions.

other people mean that Someone puts too much emphasis on analyzing and not enough emphasis on living, emotions, and just experiencing life.
=====================

i think being analytical is good, but that it can be overdone.

Being over-analytical is to be suspicious to the point of paranoia, over common everyday issues, or innocuous little innocent statements or observations. It's kind of like reading a book on diseases to a hypochondriac, - in short order, your average hypochondriac will be reduced to a sweating, hyper-ventilating, extremely agitated person, due to the fact that he or she has honed in on the medical symptoms of each disease you are describing, and has begun unconsciously adopting and ascribing each symptom and medical "marker" required to be diagnosed with that injury or sickness, without further labwork.

What is an obvious case of a person being over-analytical? Let's say you have had a friend since pre-school named Laura. Laura is a good person - but sometimes she drives you crazy, because she's always got these conspiracy theories going on, - sometimes you play along - and it's actually a riot! Other times it gets old in a hurry and you want to just be "Normal" but it's like Laura is stuck in this "everything means something else" frame of mind.

You ride the bus together to school, if your Mom is'nt running too late to drop you off on her way to work. When you get on Laura is already on the bus, (she' always one of the first kid's on and the last ones off). You say "Hey Laura! How are you doing'?" She looks at you kind of funny and asks "What do you mean by that? You say, "I mean HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY?" (Here we go again). It's going to be one of "THOSE" days when "ANYTHING" you say is going to supposedly have a double meaning - the second - or "hidden" meaning is a coded message to all the other girls around the two of you, saying the most nasty and vile things about her"

If the teacher compliments her on her outfit that day, then Laura automatically believes the comment was meant as sarcastic, and everyone else actually heard "Good God Laura! Your in High School now; girls your age don't wear jumpers with turtlenecks, and knee socks with buster-browns! An so it goes. She can not accept anything at face value - everything HAS to have a secret meaning that is diabolical and aimed against her.

Hope this works for ya.

It's a structured breakdown of the information into function, and system. Basically you see step 1, and the rest all the way to the finish, and can identify it detail, by detail.

It's called analysis-paralysis. Enough helps you "git-her-done" too much, keeps you from getting anything done.
