Dr. D. Chopra is asking a similar question and I was reading some answers and could not find it. Would you share your thoughts on what a true leader is?

Thank you!

Circumstances determine the leadership status. To be able to view the situation at handle with a pro and con viewpoint that would solve the basic problem. To manage the group through selection and election of sub leaders, the ones who will run the machinery of the organization, most important. To even be aware of what and who is doing things within the organization structure. And to be honest and sincere in applying fair justice to all.

Any who "let this Mind abide, which was also in Christ Jesus," are of the Truth, are of One Mind Soul.

This is a basis for modeling the Way for both self and other(s).

In this wise, a true leader, like Confucius, models Truth for those who are able to receive it, emulate it, "follow" it.

If a true leader has no followers who would follow, the Truth respects their ignorance, and no leadership at that level results ("but ye would not," Christ Jesus).

The true leader is not superior as a creature, and the follower is not an inferior creature. Rather, one models, demonstrates, and the other is able, learner.

A true leader recognizes the deficit-needs of others, and supplies them in Light of God, acting as an open door through which the Light and the Way are clear, transparent, without shadow of "turning," in the same wise that the pure waters of Life are given, freely, to those who ask of the "One without a second."

In the Communion of Saints, e.g. if Saint Francis of Assisi knows of some thing Christ Jesus does not, i.e., if Saint Francis of Assisi has "done a greater work," Christ Jesus is able to elect to learn from Saint Francis, to the joy and love of each in the glory (glow-ray) of God. In the Community of the Holy Spirit, Soul-individuation occurs rapidly and there are many leadings and learnings, often mutual, simultaneous; truly, Heaven is not a boring place, but one of great harmonious activity and expanding joy.

"Man, Master of His Destiny," O. M. Aivanhov.

A true leader is someone who is himself led by the light within, he who has the courage to follow his path no matter how dark the journey might seem, for he always trusts the light within to take him to the light at the end of his journey.
He who leads through example, not rhetoric. He who inspires us to follow our heart, rather than follow his ’path’. He never 'asks' us to follow, rather inspires us to become leaders in our own lives, as that is the way we chart our own destiny. A true leader creates leaders, not followers; just as a true teacher creates teachers, and students.

It's not D Chopra. He grabs money and builds complex constructs without instructing.

A leader cares about the success of the individuals in hiser organization. A dictator uses the goals and aspirations of people without helping them realize theirs.

A true leader:

has integrity
has consistency but knows when to make exceptions
has experienced both sides (i.e. been a follower and a leader)
will give up their best interests for the better of the group
will face hard times but come out stronger because of it
knows how to prioritize
has to make tough decisions
must be able to effectively communicate
knows when they need to step down

A TRUE LEADER...is anyone who is living in accordance with their INTUITIVE PURPOSE...or DHARMA.

No doubt,...at times this entails making difficult CHOICES regarding the DIRECTION a person takes over the course of his or her life...,that MAY NOT NECESSARILY be viewed as POPULAR.

However, philosophers such as JEAN-PAUL SARTE have
postulated that making CHOICES that may subsequently
PROVE to be UNPOPULAR is exactly what the CONCEPT of AUTHENTICITY is about...i.e., remaining TRUE to ONESELF!

ONE who "marches to the BEAT of the DIFFERENT DRUMMER" is a person who at SOME POINT in their life
is deemed to be SINGULARLY SIGNIFICANT...and therefore CHOSEN by their peers,...or contemporaries as
SOMEONE NOTEWORTHY.

The CHOICE is made by an INTUITIVE AFFIRMATION that
the ACTIONS of this person - within the social context that we call LIFE- are TRUE.

That is the MARK of a TRUE LEADER...an INDIVIDUAL who LIVES OUT the CHOICES made in accordance with his or her INNER RESOLVE.

ONE who "loves their fate"...i.e., "AMOR FATI!"

a true leader is someone who isnt a follower, someone who isnt afriad to ask questions; investigates for themself, listens to all sides b4 making any decisions, conciders all factors-angels-points of view. someone who- once learns something is eager to teach it to someone else. someone who doesnt judge, someone who would get down in the dirt with u. someone who wants to improve things for everyone for the better. there is a leader in all of us. its just up to us to not be afraid to pull that leader out. if someone laughs at u for not following the crowd--mayb they should take a step back n look at why they are a follower--mayb bc they are not grown enough to lead.

True leaders are people who care about others, find out others needs, rally a group and accomplish things that would not be possible without help. United, we can do great things. Devided, we will never make it.

I believe being a leader requires three things.

First, the person must see a course of action.

Second they must have the charisma to rally support for their cause.

Third, they must have the management ability and confidence to delegate authority and see the job is done.

A true leader must be able to implement and delegate his goals and objectives for the good of the many(company etc.). He must be able to manage and collaborate with his subordinates in peace and harmony..
