i have a 03 trailblazer and put a remote start in it 2 days ago, and the next morning after using the remot start, the battery was dead. is there a connection, or is it just an old battery. thanks

3 - 5 years depending upon the conditions.

Sounds like there may be short in the remote start system if it suddenly started to drain down.

There may be a short in the system due to the new installation that caused the problem. But batteries generally only last about 3 - 5 years, depending on where you live, how hard you push it, etc.

How long is a peice of string......

I've seen batteries fail in under a year, and I've owned a Peugeot that had the same battery it left Peugeot with 9 years previous.

Best get a drop test done on the battery.

When the vehicle is new your battery should last as least 5 years, but the newer batteries all depend on what you buy.

It could be both. Take a look at the remote connections or go back to where it was installed.
