mainly many of the countries that have banned cloning humans are concerned with "playing god".
But there are other reasons to be concerned about it just now. We don't understand enough about cloning and how it works yet to clone a human. There has been some concern about the cloned animals prematurely aging. One theory was that a clone was the age of the DNA donor plus its own age. If this theory proves true then an infant clone from a 35 year old donor is physiologically already 35 years old, as this child ages by about age 20 he could have diseases and health problems associated with a 55 year old person. This would be cruel to subject someone to this.
also why would we clone people. Are we creating clones as another way for a childless couple to reproduce? Or are the clones being created to experiment on or use as slave labor or for extra body parts.
There are too many unanswered questions just now and these things need to be explored before we jump into a new technology. Where sentient life is involved, we need to tread a bit more carefully. Just because we have the capability to do something doesn't always mean we should do it. Also reasons for not doing something in one time period may change as the circumstances change for another time period.

Cloning animals is legal, cloning humans is illegal. It's mostly for religious and ethical reasons - issues like what makes someone human? Would that person still be created by 'God' if they are cloned in a test-tube? Also, having a genetically equal copy of someone poses legal issues. It's just a huge bundle of issues. You should look into it, it's really hard to summarize.

Well, it is messing with nature and I do not think they know exactly what the outcome will be as no real studies have been done on it - except with a sheep called Dolly which I understand died quite young.
Besides it is unethical.
Oh, by the way, you should check your spelling before you post - you are bound to get a few smart answers about that.

because its easy to frame someone of doing a crime if it was legal. say you touched a table. someone could easily pick up your DNA from that spot on the table, take it to a lab, and clone you. that clone would have the exact same DNA you do. say someone convinced the clone to commit a crime. the police would try to get DNA samples from the crime scene, and it would turn out that you did the crime when you didn't. get my point?

Because the person who made the law has met me. And that is a super scary thought to have me cloned.

it's illegal? I didn't know it was possible..... But probably because the authorities don't want a kid cloning himself, having one go to school, and the other go do something stupid.
