here is the quote that has been attributed to Winston Churchill though is no record of saying it.
“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”
Mr. Churchill did move from liberal to conservative though. here is where the quote came from .
The phrase originated with Francois Guisot (1787-1874): "Not to be a
republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is
proof of want of head." It was revived by French Premier Georges
Clemenceau (1841-1929): "Not to be a socialist at twenty is proof of
want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head."
and from my prospective is that yes this true, my political friends have all moved from the left to the right. even some of the stanchest left wing people, which was a shock.

in terms of evolution, i circulate with it being an artefact of different issues like alpha male annoying circumstances interior of a p.c... youthful male annoying circumstances the alpha, if the present alpha isn't as much because it then he's replaced. If he's, then the greater youthful male usually heads off to objective to reproduce someplace else. no longer likely to call that social progression. :-) people nonetheless have a number of those forms of tendencies even although they do no longer look to be properly adapted to our societies. youthful people nonetheless could desire to outline themselves - it quite is helpful - however the tendency to realize this via undertaking and insurrection isn't unavoidably. IME, rebellious older individuals have a tendency to be greater efficient in bringing approximately social exchange. youthful persons are in simple terms much less probably to have the abilities, perception or persistence to realize this. youthful people truthfully have a tendency to get caught up in dichotomies - the way they used to think of is obviously incorrect, the way they think of now's needless to say staggering. And each thing else? properly it quite is inaccurate too. basically in places like R&S is existence ever that easy. ;-) information the place yet somebody else is coming from makes a worldwide of difference. annoying to try this without journey.

You are stereo-typing. I don't think age has anything to do with political leanings. It basically boils down to your outlook on society and how you feel the government should or should not be involved.

this tends to happen bcuz liberalism is a fairytale just like santa and the tooth fairy...as you grow you realize its not real and get serious....this is the same for politics and you can look at the past to prove that liberalism is B.S. a couple of quick examples are the NEW DEAL under FDR which didnt work WWII worked...Jimmy Carters whole presidency led to hostage and gas crisis....then JFK who passed his Vietnam mess to Lyndon Johnson....then Lydons Jonhsons plan which the name escapes me didnt work either (the plan was similar to the new deal with over 100 pieces of new legislation) so look at the past big liberals they all failed in there goals of making liberalism work.......grow up already SANTA isnt real

False inference. There are plenty of young right-wing twerps here, and most of the old folks I'm aware of are more liberal than the twerps. They remember the Great Depression, and how the Government WAS the answer, not the problem, as Bonzo Reagan claimed.

brain function peaks in the mid to late 20's then declines with age
you can prevent function loss by exercising your brain - hence why PhD scientists are almost always (90%) liberal.

Highly unlikely that that is true. I can guarantee that the great majority of voters have been loyal to ONE party all their lives, the same party their parents believed in.
