Ipod Nano Problems?

ok for christmas I just got the new 8GB ipod nano, the squarish one. I also have itunes. I downloaded this movie and its the right file type. MPG4. So now I just need to know how to get my ipod to play it. I can't drag the video into it and I don't know how to sync it. The same applies when I try to put pictures in it. I will drag them into my computer and into the ipod thing and it puts it in there. But when turn on my ipod it says no videos or movies, the same w/ pics.... does anyone know how to put videos and pics in it?

Maybe you downloaded the movie to your compute and forgot to download it on to your ipod?:D

Right your doing it all wrong, The ipod dosent work the same as a USB drive or MP3 player through usb. It has its own program to access music, photos, and videos, which you already know called Itunes.

You might see your ipod but putting things on that way does nothing, and your probably losing space on your ipod doing it that way.

Itunes is what you use to do anything meaning editing, adding or removing.
Plug your ipod into itunes open itunes.

Now to check that this file you say is an mpg4 right click on it and click properties then it will say what type it is.

If it is then your ok.

If it isnt you will need to convert, there are many programmes you can use i use Videora Ipod converter, its the best and all for free. Google it. It will be the top link.

Goto itunes look for your ipod in devices. Expand the ipod with the little grey arrow next to it to see music, videos and photos. simply just drag the movie over to the ipod until you see the navy blue oval shape and let go and it should transfer over. This may take a number of minutes depending how big the file is.

Once done you can check your ipod and you will see its gone over into videos.

To put pics on yourn ipod use itunes again this time, click on your ipod when connected the first page you will see will be the main page saying what your ipod is how much space its using, and serial number. Then there will be tabs along the top of that page saying music,photos, videos, and settings.

Click on the photos tab its more than likely to be set to sync automatically with a certain folder, this can be changed on a drop down box next to it, on mine is MY PICTURES so lets say you change it to that. So it will say Sync from My Pictures, the grey box below will arrange a number of folders if anything is in there. In My pictures you will see a folder Ipod Photo Cache find this through your my documents not in itunes add folders or pics in this. Then go back to itunes and sync on the bottom right hand side button.

Sorry last bit might be complicated i can talk you through it will be easier.

I Got A New nano for xmas too:)
Firstly click file at the top then inport ,
click on the video
now thats done plug in your ipod then
click movies where the tabs are.
now thats done sort out the settings
DONE!
But it might not play it due to the settings , im not sure on that.
same with pictures but on the picture tab =]

have you ever tried resetting it ? in case you have no longer/do no longer understand how, carry down the two buttons... i think of its the midsection one and the play button, in any different case its the midsection and menu buttons, and wait till finally the demonstrate is going clean then an apple will pop up then enable flow of the buttons. in case you tried that and it did no longer artwork, the battery could be loss of life. you may get it replaced yet i've got heard its so high priced for the battery and having apple substitute it that it extremely is well worth it to easily purchase a clean one. you are able to ask apple for confident approximately that tho.

Go to itunes sync
