Who commissions the poll, and who engineers the questions? And like someone said, who discards the polls that don't produce the answers anticipated? Polls are worthless in most cases, or at best, lagging indicators. The media has a slipping stranglehold on the public. In a couple years, or an election cycle or two, internet media will reign, unless it too, is taken over by oldmedia by way of mis-named terms like "net neutrality" (possibly penned by Frank Luntz lol).
This video by Penn and Teller really enlightened me,

What's interesting is that particular poll is the only one that shows she has a double digit lead. Of course since that poll does not reflect what shows up in every other poll, you can likely discredit that particular poll. But don't allow that to make you think all other polls aren't accurate. If you average out all polls conducted in Iowa over the past month Obama and Clinton both poll around 27 to 30% of the vote. Some polls show Obama in the lead and others show Clinton in the lead. But I think it's safe to say came caucus time we will have a real tight race between Obama and CLinton at least in Iowa.

I dont think it's so much the media creating their own polls. It's more likely that they pick and choose the polls to publicize. There are a thousand polls out there. If you pick just the right areas-Hillary or Obama can lead or trail. It's up to us to do our own thinking and not let any network dictate our choices. This is the very first election I can remember where the lead up to the primaries is so big. Looks to be an interesting year-starting next month. May the best Man or woman win.

Well, that depends on who made the poll. The poll that shows Hillary surged was done by the pollster, american Reserch Group, a reliable organization.
In my view, Hillary's recent surge in Iowa is because of the following reasons:
a) In the last week, Hillary has received all the endorsements of the Iowa newspapers, and these endorsements would pursuade the undecided readers to vote for Hillary.
b) Also in the last week, while Obama or Edwards are campaigning in New Hampshire and elsewhere, Hillary started her "99 counties tour" in Iowa. Her effort might have convinced some voters.
Hillary has gone through many important elections before, and she knows what to do as voting days draw near.
It does not surprise me that she surged in polls, and more to come...

fantastically plenty which skill the persons who do no longer pay Federal earnings tax or are on welfare do in contrast to Republican rules. As for the fifty 3 % who do no longer purely like the Democrat rules in Congress are everybody who can pay Federal earnings tax and a few of those that are on the perimeter. What i like is how the finished is fantastically much a hundred and ten% so we've a 10% overlap of persons who do no longer in all hazard like the two celebration. however, i could maximum in all hazard be that class.

It's all set up to 'fleece the party oriented sheep,' booboo.
Hate republucans and love democrats?? You're just as big a sheep as the rest of the lemming electorate. Grow a spine and a brain and distance yourself from ALL parties!
Or, remain the sheep you accuse everyone else of being -- and get led to the slaughter just like all the rest!

The media knows all about polls and what they do and do not tell us. I suspect every news organization has some interest in reporting results that will spark a lot of interest and cause people to tune in. They are in business to draw viewers and sell advertising, you know.
Happy New Year!

Yeah....Ron Paul on his first debate was proof of this.......now they say that they are using scientific polling?? whats in the equation they are using? certainly not ron paul name.......I'm convinced Ron is leading all the polls hands down, because for the first time in my voting memory, we were always given both polling numbers, and they were usually pretty close....so I know something is up with the media.

If politicians think polls influence voters some will find a way of bribing the pollsters.
