same here. curse words are just that, WORDS. they aren't "bad" or "evil". just words. i use them all the time, haha. i of course dont use them as much around my older family out of respect and because id rather not hear them *gasp* at such vulgarity. but other than that, people need to loosen up a little and realize they are JUST WORDS.

My husband and I don't use curse words at most times ... so when either of us does use one, it's like getting 'shot' ... a deep and painful shock to the system. We both feel that is what a good 'curse word' is for ... if we use the words constantly, they are far less powerful. Since we rarely use them, each has MORE POWER TO SHOCK. Try it and see ... besides, people who 'curse frequently' are not very creative and use the 'curse' to 'fill the air' while they try to think of something to say ... but what they say next usually isn't very intelligent, either, because they 'curse too much' so everything they say is 'less intelligent' too ...

Well, I try not to use them as I want to set a good example for my children. I also think that they make a person sound a little trashy when they do use them. The English language has so many great adjectives that can throw people for a loop and I think that is really why people use curse words (to get a reaction).

I have a 2 year old and a 12 year old, so I have many says on this question. People use curse words usually when they are angry, or just kidding. But who are we kidding? I mean, I don't understand why people are using them a lot for jokes, I mean I don't use them because of my kids. But my husband does when he's angry. I don't know, I think its not curse words, but its the content in movies, and what sounds "wrong" thats becoming the replacement for curse words.

No, I don't use curse words (routinely) I think there are better ways of expressing emphasis than to curse. And I REALLY hate it when I am watching what is supposed to be a family movie and the child star curses! I always think, "Why does their mom think this is ok?"

i dont think its ok for children to say the f or the c curse, but they should be allowed to say a,s,b... because they are going to end up saying them in another 5 years anyway. plus you wouldn't know how much they use them when there out side playing or at a friends house.

I think most people use them occasionally. If a person uses them consistently, I simply consider him/her to be somewhat lacking in terms of descriptive vocabulary, and I tend to find such speech tiresome.

As to the words themselves - they're just words to which society at large has assigned a negative value; to me, there's no such thing as a word that is inherently bad.

i think curse words are fine but the people of today use them too much. It takes the whole point out of a curse word.

They are so common as to be ordinary and boring. Originally used for giving a punch to what is being said, it is now of no consequence. It's like crying wolf. If used too often or inappropriately, it loses its power to get attention.
